Young Astronaut release their debut album Fawn as a free download for everyone and anyone. The ten track LP demonstrates a “fusion of acoustic, folk and indie with lyrical content ranging from eternal innocence to sofa surfing to a love story between an artist and a villain.”
The resulting record is an emotionally charged debut from Young Astronaut, blending influences from English night folk to post-grunge with a maturity and finesse that falls somewhere between Ben Howard, Frank Turner and a young Radiohead.
Have a listen to the album below and if you like what you hear then head over to their website and collect your free download! www.youngastronaut.co.uk
New live dates confirmed for the band below:
09th Feb: On The Rocks, Bournemouth
15th Feb: The Anvil, Bournemouth
21st March: The Good Ship, London

Well looky here, Little Comets are back having made their mark at the start of this year with the release of their debut album In Search of Elusive Little Comets.
I don’t want to compare them to other bands too much as I think they are individual enough but if you like bands like Vampire Weekend and The Kooks then this guitar based band might just be up your street. With great melodies, catchy guitar hooks and the band’s signature afro-beat swagger, it’s perfect for the summer vibe especially during winter! I have had this track on repeat for a while now, true story.
Watch the video for Worry below, make sure you listen at least until the chorus comes in about 1:08 :
If you would prefer the audio go to the Little Comets Soundcloud Page.

A mixture of electro pop and indie with catchy vocal melodies… yeah I think that is about right! I thought I was listening to a less high pitched more guitar driven Passion Pit at first but getting into it a bit more I can see the differences and think these guys are pretty good. Lonsdale Boys Club have got plenty of festival appearances this summer including V Festival and Isle of Wight, so make sure you see them live if you are going to those.
I’m a big fan of their debut single, Light Me Up. Have a listen:

Thank you The Strange Death of Liberal England you have confirmed that I have in fact got no multitasking skills whatsoever! The music video for Come On You Young Philosophers is a treasure hunt of clues hidden within a song and a video… literally. I might be young but even I stuggled at first!
‘Somewhere in the UK, a box has been hidden containing a range of marvellous prizes.’ This is how the clues start, to read the rest go to the Youtube video and read the description.
On the music side of things I really like the song it has childlike elements but then rips into an indie track without warning. Let me know if you figure out the clues… I’m curious!
