Last night I made my way to Soho House in London to watch Gabriella Cilmi's very intimate gig showcasing new music from her upcoming third album. Free cocktails, great music and a very cool intimate performance from a talented singer.
It was swelteringly hot and the sun was beaming down on thousands and thousands of bodies in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Even though there were no clouds in the sky and no shade to hide from the sun, one thing was for sure - nobody was dying of thirst; the drinks were flowing!
After doing an interview with the American blues/hip hop artist ZZ Ward, we headed over to The Water Rats in King's Cross to catch her first ever headline show in London. This was a bit of a whirlwind tour for the singer as she was doing one show in the UK then off around Europe.
Last night was the first time I had been to a gig at Islington Assembly Hall and despite it being smaller than I had expected it was packed full of people eagerly waiting to see the much talked about Laura Mvula perform.
Sara Fincham went along to see Fleetwood Mac in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The classics were played and they sounded as good as people had hoped. Songs ranged from before the drug filled days through to new ones from their latest EP.
